Enhancing Government Workflows with Aerial Imagery

Before Nearmap, we had gaps where we wouldn’t have updated imagery. We’re able to stay on top of new developments, roads, and addresses. Being able to have Nearmap imagery integrated into our GIS systems helps us be much more accurate.

The high-resolution of Nearmap imagery helps CVG locate and monitor signs, roadways and terminal facilities, review the the condition and wording of the signage, helping CVG maintain an accurate database for asset management.

Nearmap provides recent content which helps us keep pace with the frequent changes to our Airport infrastructure which we maintain in GIS, such as; runways and taxiways, as well as maintaining a digital copy of all painted signs and marking lines out in the airfield.

I'm more than convinced that the return on taxpayer dollars for purchasing Nearmap is easily 100%, and this is after only a few months using Nearmap.

Nearmap’s frequent captures and high-resolution aerial imagery allow us to obtain extremely accurate measurements and validate exterior data from desktop reviews before conducting on-site property inspection.  Nearmap is a forward-thinking tool that is addressing some of the biggest challenges during the pandemic and is immensely improving efficiency in the Assessing field overall.

Having Nearmap’s quarterly aerials really helps because the phenology of plants changes through the season. This is a colonizing plant; it grows very circular. In the spring, it doesn’t quite stand out yet, there’s no real pop in color. But it bolts in the fall and is really easy to spot. We can use Nearmap’s imagery to easily show the striking difference between burned and unburned phragmites.

With Nearmap we’re getting new image captures three times a year which enables us to be more accurate and to capture changes in near real-time.
