The Nearmap partner ecosystem represents a diverse number of organisations across the US, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, each one enhancing the Nearmap experience in your organisation. How so, you may ask?
In short, it allows Nearmap customers to achieve the flexibility required by organisations when collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders, each with their varying technology environments.
The Nearmap partner ecosystem allows subscribers to utilise your Nearmap imagery subscription in the most-used software. Not just one app, but multiple apps from multiple vendors. After all, why use various imagery sources with different capture dates (some years old), different resolutions, different technical specs, and different procurement procedures and cycles? It makes sense to standardise aerial imagery across the organisation and leverage your imagery investment so multiple departments and users can access the same imagery in the apps they use for their specific workflows. So, for example, if you’re an engineering or architectural firm and want to use your Nearmap content in Esri, and Autodesk, and Bentley, in Australia, the US, and Canada – of course you can! Or maybe you’re a city public works department and want to use Nearmap in multiple Esri products, and Geocortex, and Cityworks, and TreePlotter – yes you can do that too.
Nearmap recognises the necessity of integrating into our customers' favourite apps. Enter the Nearmap Partner ecosystem. Broadly grouped into four categories they all provide intrinsic value for mutual customers: Platform Partners, Integration Partners, Channel Partners, and OEM Partners.
Platform Partners are large, strategic, and established organisations with a technology stack that is used natively, and often used as a platform for other applications to be built. They will usually have their own file formats, especially for 3D, and through well documented integration methods you can use your Nearmap subscription in Platform Partner products, such as Esri, Autodesk, or Bentley Systems. For example, the images below show the versatility of Nearmap content, displaying the same geographic area at The Fields Park and surrounding infrastructure, at 1099 NW Oregon St, Portland, OR 97209, in Esri, Autodesk, and Bentley – all derived from the same source imagery.
Integration Partners are software partners with focused applications in specific industries where Nearmap content is incorporated using our APIs. This allows you to easily access our aerial imagery and data inside the applications you use most. For example, Cityworks, Geocortex, PlanIT Geo, RapidDeploy, AssetAlly, HelioScope, AxisGIS, and more. If you have an application that you use, and want to see Nearmap content in it, reach out and let us know!
Channel Partners have proven themselves as consultants and domain experts in their industry and or geographic area and recognise the value for their customers to utilise Nearmap in their workflows. They usually offer value added solutions and/or managed services to their clients including intimate Nearmap knowledge. Some examples are Arora Engineers, Florida Technical Consultants, Miller Spatial, NewEdge Services, Tighe & Bond, and Ruekert & Mielke.
Arora Engineers has a team focused on airport management and recognises the value of Nearmap imagery as an important component of their aviation geospatial solutions.
OEM Partners embed Nearmap content in their solutions in a white-label type offering. You do not need a Nearmap subscription to view Nearmap content in these solutions as that is handled by our OEM Partner. A few examples from Australia and the US are Mapcite, Archistar, SOLO, SketchUp, Aurora Solar, MindSight, and many more.
The Nearmap Partner ecosystem is a valuable network for Nearmap customers to leverage. Use Nearmap content for your critical workflows in multiple platforms and applications using one subscription. Provide consistency to all employees and departments, across projects, states and even countries.
Future blogs with the "Nearmap Partner" tag will cover partner types and new partner announcements.
