Measurement Tool
Open the measurement toolbox
Follow these steps to access the tool:
- Right-click on the map to display the context menu

Select Measurement tool to display the Measurement toolbox (shown
below) – the cursor changes to a 'X' cross-hair which you can use to add
and move points)

Now you are ready to measure distances and get bearing information (see
the steps that follow)
Measure distances between points
Find the distances between places easily using the measurement tool:
- Open the measurement toolbox (using the steps listed above)

Position the cursor at the location you want to start your
measurement and click once - this drops a marker to show the starting point

Move the cursor to another location and click again to drop
another marker. Repeat this for as many points as you wish. You will notice the
distance covered increasing as you go along.

You can choose to display the distance in metric or imperial measurements

When you are done, just close the toolbox and resume exploring the map
More tips:

You can click on any of the control points to reposition them – The
measurement will update automatically

If you have made a mistake, Delete last
allows you to delete the last point in your measurement. You can use the
Backspace key too.

New line removes the points and lets you
start a fresh measurement

Hide control points allows you to show/hide
the point handles
Getting the bearing between two points
Bearing measurement is possible if there are only 2 points.
- Open the measurement toolbox (using the steps listed above)

Position the cursor and click at the first location to set the
starting point

Next, position the cursor and click again at another location to set
the end point

The bearing information is displayed in the toolbox as shown here:

When you are done, just close the toolbox and resume exploring the map.
(hint: You can either press Esc or click the
"X" on the toolbox.)
